OMG!!! OMG!!! What a day!

What a day indeed! It started 2 days prior to Thursday the 3rd of July when Damien arrived home from work and mentioned that Powderfinger were going to be playing a gig at the new Apple store in the city. So we thought about it and organised a baby sitter. I had no work organised for the day so what a better way to spend it then sitting outside Apple on a busy city street with Darryl Lea Chocolates across the road tempting me alllll day.
I met some lovely ladies whilst waiting and realised that everyone else was a desperate as I was to see a fabulous Aussie band!
So while we waited we ran into Will Anderson - a columnist/radio/TV personality. He was lovely and stayed for a few minutes to chat and take a piccy.

Around 6pm Damien and Aurora finally arrived to join me at the front of the line. As you can see the road path was barricaded. Shortly after we saw people rocking up that had won their way in via a email competition where they wouldn't have to wait to get in. However the organisers were just wonderful as they let us poor long waiting devotees in first.

Which meant we were right up the front!! Close enough to photograph the very set list that Aurora later got autographed. And my goodness, she has learnt the groupie thing well, she made a bee line for the set list as soon as the band left and before anyone notice that she got it. LOL

And this is how we do it. I have no idea where Aurora got these hand movements from but she has been doing them since she was 5 years old at her first concert which of course was U2. The band loved it and kept smiling at Aurora. Bernard ended up chatting with her mid set to ask her name and where she got the hands from and dedicated "Nobody Sees" to her.

And here are some shots of the band in action. I love that red guitar!

Afterwards we joined the band to get Aurora's drumsticks and set list signed. The guys were awesome and gracious hosts indeed. OMG we met Powderfinger!!!!!
Aurora was so stoked that she got to meet them and the next day when she went to school she snuck her autographs to school for news time LOL No wonder I couldn't find them at home.
Anyway the guys were just lovely and we were grateful that they took the time to have a bit of a chat, sign a thing or two and have a photo.
