Australia Day weekend 24 - 26th
We had been hanging out to see the Star Wars Exhibition but due to lots of lurgies over Dec - Jan we waited until we were better. It was worth the wait!
The day started off adventurous. We were to meet some friends on the train at a different station only to find out on a stinking hot day that the trains were not running due to trackwork and buses replaced them. It was easier to drive. So we met up and drove in to the city, gotta love airconditioning.
The exhibition was as we imagined. The costumes were cool, so detailed. The experiment activities were fabulous too. The kids got to try out different things like making a train work with magnets to get it running, building an all terrain droid and programming the droid. Ethan and Ashlen teamed up. Ethan was like the mad scientist with Ashlen his assistant LOL They would get so excited when their experimental models worked.
We we finally emerged from the coolness of the Powerhouse Museum, we went for a stroll around Darling Harbour. Children and parents were swimming in all the fountains and waterways around the Harbour. We checked out Imax to see if U23D was playing and it was so we ended up all watching it....only to have a blackout half way through! Needless to say, we were refunded and given complimentary tickets!!
Feeling all touristy, we strolled around China Town before finally heading home. The kids love looking in all the little shops with their knick knacks.

Monday the 26th at friend's Michelle and Mark who we hadn't seen since before our trip. It was great to catch up with them and hear about their lovely wedding way back in September. They live near the beach and even though it was quite a cool day the kids had a great time in the water and scouring the rocks for shells.
