Catch up time!!

Well what a busy few months it has been sewing numerous amounts of leotards, leg thinggy's, cross over tops and hotpants - all in Lycra!! What a learning experience it has been.
So here is just one of the leotards I made with Aurora in it. These ended up with some gorgeous tutu's over them and the girls looked divine. Aurora had such a great time at the dance concert and even got an award for improving over the year - so we are very proud of her.

Ethan also turned 8 on the 27th of November. Happy Birthday Big Man!!!
We had a great day with him, hanging out at home with his best friends. And to top off the day a Pokemon Card Cake.

He got some great pressies and has used every single one of them! One of them was some vouchers to an indoor rock climbing centre. With a little hesitance in the beginning, Ethan slowly grew more confident to climb to the top of the wall. Way to go!!
The girls also had a go but needed bribing! For every step on the rope ladder I gave them a little cookie (from a bag we took for afternoon tea). It worked!! In fact I don't think I had seen Aurora move so fast before LOL
And then on to some more sewing. Next was for my gorgeous niece Caitie who lives in Berlin. I made her two pairs of cord pants with some applique T-shirts. Apart from Aurora's U2 shirt this was the first time I had "really" done applique. I was really please with how these little sets turned out and according to my brother she did a happy dance when she opened her pressie. What more could I ask for!!??
With the red set I bought these little ladybird buttons just because. However they found their perfect purpose.

Now this is Ashie's favourite set because it is purple and that is surely her favourite colour. I like to call this one my "chic and shabby" set.
Next on the agenda is award presentations at school. This year Ethan joined the Junior Choir so we got to hear all the lovely Xmas songs that they have been learning. I was very proud of him for making that step out of the ordinary. He was given a participation award for his efforts.

Aurora also cleaned up on the day getting an award for "Outstanding Achievement in all areas", a "Principals Award" as well as a participation award for the junior dance group. She also got to give flowers to the teachers who staged the day and introduce the play they did on introducing Santa and showing him Australia! For those who didn't know her before the show, they certainly did by the end.

And the last of the awards goes to my Big Man again Ethan. He received an Encouragement Award at Gymnastics. Ethan loves gymnastics and has only been at it for a year. Good luck for next year Ethan!
Stay tuned for Christmas!!
