Red cabbage and all good food that is German...

On the evening of Sunday the 21st of September, Julia's parents invited us for a good old wholesome German meal. Julia was bringing the traditional red cabbage which her and the girls all had an absolutely ball making earlier that day. They enjoyed smelling all the ingredients before and after adding them to the pot to see how the dish evolved over the course of the cooking session. And to protect the clothing from the deep deep purple, aprons were donned.

When it was time to go, the girls prettied up complete with lippy and necklaces. They were sooo adorable.

Monika cooked some potato dumplings and some pork, with saurkraut. And for dessert a delicious pudding made from the blackberries in the garden. The meal was divine for us grownups.
