Happy 6th Birthday Ashie!

My baby girl is 6 today!!!!

She is so funny, yesterday in the morning she asks "Shall I get my uniform ready, shall I get my shoes out, shall I get my socks?" etc etc. So all ready for school today. She wakes up this morning and announces "It's my birthday now so you can wish me a little happy birthday".She was so excited to get a big school bag.

Damien got her a gorgeous book called "Why is the sky blue?" Very sweet illustrations. And I got her "Dinosnore" tickets. We are going to the Museum to sleep in the dinosaur room. She didn't seem too thrilled at getting tickets but once it sunk in she was excited. So this morning about 11.30am she bounded off to school - all excited. I can't believe that she is there now! We made cupcakes yesterday and decorated her cake for later, this morning.

She had a great day at school!!! I'm not upset at all because her enthusiasm is contagious and you can't help but be excited for her. She told me I didn't have to walk her in this morning. "Just drop me off and I'll walk in" she announced. Of course I took her in! She wouldn't even let me make her lunch for tomorrow. She waved me off "No Mum, I can do it, don't worry, I'll make it" all while tutt tutting me with her hand LOLme make her lunch for tomorrow. I can't believe how much confidence she has today because she is now 6 and has started school!! Mind you the confidence wasn't too much fun when at the pool after school she decided that because she was 6 that she could swim without us helping. Problem is....Ashie is still learning to swim! And I now have 10 more grey hairs tonight.

It feels really strange to have all 3 of my children at school.

Damien was fortunate to come home early from work to pick Ashie up. We gave her a bunch of flowers which she absolutely loved.

Now when you need to make wishes you have to blow out the candles with your eyes closed and peek every now and again to check that they are actually going out!
