The Australian Museum (again!)

For Ashlen's birthday we got her annual tickets to the museum. It had been a busy weekend, I worked on the Saturday and Damien was to work on the Sunday in the city. So we followed him in and went to the museum. We had a lovely day out and spent most of our time in the dinosaur exhibit. Even though most of the exhibition are casts it is still pretty cool to look at.
Due to being in mineral groups at school Ethan took a particular interest in the mineral collection donated by a hobbiest upon his passing. It was apparently one of the largest private collections in Australia and has some gorgeous rocks!

Can't imagine that dinosaurs really could have looked like this?!

Gigantosaurus! Scary stuff.

Practicing our Palentology skills.

Future eptymologists!

Ashie was checking out bugs under the microscope in the discovery centre.

This was the first room opened many years ago and Damien and I remember these bones from back then. The kids love this room, checking out all the skeltons of different mammals and ocean life.
The mineral collection.
