Easter Show and Sam's birthday at the park.
By Ethan and Aurora
Yesterday we went to the Easter Show. We caught the train in to Homebush, Olympic Park. We entered at Gate 9 after getting our tickets. At gate 9 there were the horse stables and Ashlen was very excited to pat the white horse called Shorty. He had his hair and nails all done up because he was going to be a contestant in the horse show. We then went outside and watched the show for a few minutes. The horses jumped really high over jumps. We then watched the horse get his horse shoes on. The farrier clean the horses hooves and nailed on the horseshoe.
The cows were calves and next to them the adults. We patted some spotty cows, the felt smooth and silky.
Afterwards we went to the petting zoo and saw lots of animals including a woolly lamb. We saw chicks and ducklings hatching from eggs in an incubator. When we saw the cats, there were some kittens that we got to pat. They felt so soft and were so cute.
In the dog pavillion, there were some dogs with their hair done. There was a funny dog that had no hair but except for on the top of its head, end of its tail and paws.
At the fruit and vege pavillion there was a fish made out of granny smiths and pink lady apples which won second prize. There was also one which was animated that had moving butterflies and flowers.
The cake section was excellent. There were many well made cakes like the Wall-E one we saw.\
At the end of the day we bought showbags full of sugar and lollies! We saw the racing and diving pigs which was really cute because they dived off a diving board into water.
We were happy to be at the Easter show and to spend time with our Dad because he is at work a lot. We had a great day looking at the animals, watching the pigs and we would like to go back again.
We hope you like our photos.
